There\’s no opinion piece this week from me, because Joan and I have spent the last week on the island of St. Vincent, in just about the farthest corner of the Caribbean from our home in British Columbia.
By the time you read this, I\’ll be home again. But during this week, I have felt strangely disconnected. I have not seen a newspaper, or a television newscast. I have not heard a radio broadcast, or Googled any stories. In short, I have no idea what\’s been going on this past week.
We set out to be lazy, and I think perhaps we succeeded beyond our expectations. One day, the most exciting event was watching a palm frond unfurl in slow motion outside our balcony.
Next week, back to normal.
